Leela Thai Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
Beef lab was good. Frog leg prad ka pow was good except some legs had a fishy taste which kind of ruined my appetite. Other than that, the flavors were good. 4/5 stars. Big portions.
So before I get into the food, the day we came, there were a few sketchy looking people outside the restaurant ( location is a little uneasy ) but as long as you can get passed that part, everything else was great. Great service, great food. Both me and the wife got the chicken pho ( much needed ) only change I would make is to thinly slice chicken breast. Boiled chicken thighs are not the correct cut for pho in my opinion and it was very flavorful. If I'm ever back in st Paul, I'll definitely be back..
Really good food. Kinda a hidden gem. Service was good, they didnt say too much aside from taking our order. Said they didnt have shrimp (i just wanted meatball and shrimp in my pho but they said they didnt have shrimp but when they served the pho, my husbands bowl had 2 shrimps in it). Not a big deal for me- just a slight confusion on why they said they didnt have shrimp and then gave shrimp to my husband. Otherwise no other complaints. Food was all fresh and served beautifully. We paid ~$80 for food and almost ~$100 with tips. Would recommend and will come again.
I moved to Minnesota in 2016, and i have made it my business to search for the restaurant. The one that reminds me the most of the place where I worked when I was 22 years old. Downtown Thai restaurant. Charlottesville, Virginia. Leela Thai is that. It's the best. It is homemade authentic. It has integrity. It reminds me of better times. Of family. Of the good parts of family. Pad Thai, papaya salad, house pho. I love this place.
All delicious food in twin city. Their services are very good. I recommend Pad Thai, Pad Kra Phao, and Pho. I will go to try another dish next time. Thanks
Food is delicious! Staff is extremely friendly! Food portions are huge & great! 110% recommend the Pad Thai and the fresh spicy kapoon!
This restaurant has a good selection of food. We ordered boat noodle, deep fried pork belly with sticky rice, egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. The BOAT NOODLE came with some greens, plenty of beef and pork skin. I liked it but felt that the broth was too rich. It was too sweet for my sisters liking but that's based on preference. PORK BELLY was dipped in a batter before being fried. I was not a fan of this and the pork had a raw smell to it. However it did come with some bomb hot pepper and that kinda helped. Was also not a fan of the sticky rice. It was a bit hard. EGGROLL was nice and crispy but mostly contained vermicelli noodles and cabbage. We each saw one tiny piece of meat in each eggroll. CREAM CHEESE WONTON was so good! One of the best in the twin cities. It was completely filled, not too sweet nor salty. I would def return just for this. Food proportions and presentation were good with a friendly and welcoming staff. The area is sketchy but everyone minded their own business.
I just found my new favorite Thai restaurant — and I’m so glad they opened near my home! I’ve tried several dishes so far, and everything has been incredibly flavorful and delicious. Their Cajun seafood boil was packed with bold spices and perfectly cooked, and the Pad Thai had that perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and savory. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try even more dishes. Highly recommend
